Landscape Photographer 2016

Brighton Pier

Una vista espectacular e inusual de una de las ciudades costeras más conocidas de Inglaterra ha ganado el primer premio Landscape Photographer of the Year en el Reino Unido. Con ella, el fotógrafo Mateo Cattell se ha convertido en la décima persona en ganar el título general y el premio de 10.000 libras.

Charlie Waite, uno de los principales fotógrafos de paisaje de Gran Bretaña y fundador de los Premios, habló sobre la imagen ganadora: “La sensación de movimiento es palpable en la fotografía de Mateo y realmente consigue transmitir el escenario de tal forma que el espectador se siente como si hubiese estado a su lado. Los estorninos parecen estar girando alrededor de los restos icónicos del muelle oeste de Brighton en una forma que recuerda al tornado en el Mago de Oz”.
